Our first interviewees for this project were Mrs. Deidre Britten (on the left here; born 1932; nee Lacey) and Mrs Kath Dolling (on the right; born 1931; nee Smith).
Since then, we have also interviewed Reggie Gray (born 1937) and Gordon Eayres, who was teacher at the Whitehill
School during the war. Reggie's father was the keeper of Lowndes Park and they lived in a cottage more or
less where the roundabout at the bottom of Chartidge Lane now stands. Gordon moved to Chesham Bois when
he was six years old in 1926.
